In light of the novelty and dynamics of the AI sector and taking into account the potential for rapid developments in the underlying metrics that are used to identify the general-purpose AI models with systemic risk, it is necessary to empower the Commission to amend, by means of delegated acts, the thresholds and to supplement the benchmarks and indicators in light of evolving technological developments, including improvements in algorithm efficiency, as well as industry best practices.
