In order to ensure continuous and effective monitoring of the application of this Regulation, in particular the rules regarding general-purpose AI models, a structured engagement with the scientific community is useful. This is the reason for establishing a scientific panel of independent experts to support the monitoring activities of the AI Office. The scientific panel should provide qualified alerts to the AI Office in certain cases.
