Given the particular structure of the value chain, the provider of a general-purpose AI model, irrespective of whether it releases the model under a free and open-source licence, should provide the downstream provider of an AI system with relevant information and documentation regarding the model in order to enable its proper integration and, subsequently, facilitate the compliance of the AI system with this Regulation, in particular as regards high-risk AI systems.
