In order to facilitate the development of harmonised standards for high-risk AI systems and specifications for the requirements for general-purpose AI models, the Commission should, as soon as practicable and before mandating standardisation activities, compile standardisation requests that specify common and detailed requirements for the AI systems and general-purpose AI models covered by this Regulation. It is appropriate to clarify that the elaboration by the Commission of such standardisation requests should be considered as the standardisation requests referred to in Article 10(1) of Regulation (EU) No 1025/2012 of the European Parliament and of the Council.
