Record-keeping and logging are important for the effective supervision and enforcement of the obligations under this Regulation. High-risk AI systems should be designed to enable robust logging capabilities that are proportionate to the intended purpose of the system, in order to ensure a level of traceability sufficient to comply with the relevant obligations under existing Union or national law. This is without prejudice to mandatory logging requirements laid down in specific Union or national law.
